(TAKEN FROM KANYE'S BLOG)

IT HURTS ME TO SEE THE OLD AND VERY WRONG VERSION OF THE PARANOID VIDEO GET LEAKED ALL OVER THE NET WHILE I WAS ON AN 11 HR FLIGHT AND COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. IT'S JUST FRUSTRATING WHEN THIS STUFF HAPPENS BECAUSE I REALLY CARE ABOUT THE PRODUCT AND SINCE VIDEOS NEVER GET PLAYED ANY WAY YOU MIGHT AS WELL TWEAK THEM AND MAKE THEM AS SPECIAL AS POSSIBLE. THE VERSION THAT GOT LEAKED FROM THE CAMERA PHONE LAST WEEK IS AT LEAST A LITTLE CLOSER TO THE FINAL PRODUCT. THANK YOU EVERYBODY FOR YOUR SUPPORT BUT THAT VIDEO WAS NOT UP TO MY STANDARDS. HERE'S SOME SCREEN SHOTS FROM THE REAL VIDEO

Fresh Daily - Tomorrow Is Today Mixtape

Fresh Daily - Tomorrow Is Today

Fresh Daily releases a brand new mixtape. For those who don’t know, Fresh Daily is an upcoming artist out of Brooklyn, NY. I’ve actually had the pleasure of knowing Fresh for a few years now and he has definitely progressed tremendously since I have known him. This new tape is more like an album featuring “fresh” tracks from the unique and very creative artist. He explains his name as, “Fresh Daily just fits me right, I stay Fresh All day, every day, with the rhymes, with the style. Its just another way of expressing my motto of consistent innovation.” The mixtape is a great tape just in time for the good weather and the summer. The beats are very futuristic and laid back, some very dope production indeed. Check him out.

Aqua making a comeback!!!!

Looks like I'm going to get another pair!

I broke my Sennheiser headphones the other day.......P***ed!

There like the perfect headphones, I brought them back in 2006....So I guess it has lasted me a while.

I took them to a DJ shop in Deptford who I have actually used before, but they said "They have had it love"

They are so perfect for mixing.

Looks like I'm going to have to buy another Pair, but my Birthday is around the corner : )

Think I might have to upgrade.

ERIC ELMS x VANS PREVIEW
These are Crazy!!!
Last month in our Hypebeast Feature involving talented New York designer Eric Elms, he gave us a little preview into an upcoming project that involved Vans. The brand new shoe model which will drop in the next few months represents another medium tackled by Elms. A bit of his own personal commentary involving the shoe can be seen below as well.
When is your Vans shoe coming out?

It’s coming out in a couple months, I think. The design is all done, but I’ll probably do a couple things around that. I’m going to do a sculpture based on one of the graphics related to it. The shoe isn’t a pro model or anything, they said that I could do whatever I wanted, so it’s my own model.
How did you tackle that?
It was kind of tough. It’s a totally different way of thinking. You have to draw it flat but then work in 3-D. I got a sample back and it was like my drawing, but not exactly like what was in my head. Too much of a traditional skater shoe. Once I got that sample it was easier to make changes and glue things on and re-sketch. The sample was about 95% there. It’s coming out in three colors, one’s canvas, one’s suede and one is a mix of the two.
What did you go in to it wanting to make?
Something that was more me. More of a casual shoe than a skate shoe. I have a casual style, and maybe something a little weirder. It wouldn’t make sense for me to make a skater shoe because that’s not me. It’s going be at all skate accounts. It’s not going to be limited which I’m excited about.

Happy 50th Birthday to Island Records

Chris Blackwell founded the Island label in Kingston, Jamaica in 1959 with capital of just £1000. Relocating to London in the early 60s Blackwell built the most diverse and enviable back catalogue of any independent record label in history. From Island’s early Jamaican roots in ska and rock-steady, through the label’s expansion to become the cutting edge of progressive rock in the late 60s, and then on to the signing of such international superstars as Bob Marley and U2, Blackwell brought to Island a unique vision and passion which still informs the label’s approach to this day.

Says Blackwell: “When I recorded ‘Lance Hayward at the Half Moon’ in 1959 at Federal Records Studio in Kingston, Jamaica, I had no inkling what path this had set me on. It has been an honour and a privilege to work with some of the greatest musical artists of all time. It was always my intention at Island to make records that stood the test of time, and I’m proud that Island is still a potent force in music 50 years since that first release. I’m very excited to be collaborating with the label to celebrate Island’s 50th birthday and I’m particularly excited about the week of shows in London.”

The Island label has been responsible for the careers of some of the biggest stars in music including U2, Bob Marley, Cat Stevens, Traffic, Free, Fairport Convention, Nick Drake, Sandy Denny, Toots & The Maytals, John Martyn, Marianne Faithfull, Aswad, Tom Waits, King Sunny Ade, Third World, Roxy Music, Robert Palmer, the B52s, Sly & Robbie, Melissa Etheridge, The Slits, Steel Pulse, Grace Jones, Tom Tom Club, Pulp, Tricky, Talvin Singh, and latterly Amy Winehouse, PJ Harvey, DJ Shadow, Sugababes, Keane, The Fratellis, Scott Matthews, Paul Weller, The Feeling, Portishead and Florence & The Machine.

Just found these on the Vans Blog!

Off The Wall: Carbon Fiber Vans Customs by Hush Fabrications

You wouldn't even know these are actually custom made Vans. Hush, a sneaker customizer of few words from Shrewsbury, MA, added carbon fiber accents to this pair of red Half Cabs he completed earlier this year. Basically, his deal is to take a stock pair of kicks and hand-stitch them so well that they appear better than the real thing. I don't know much about Hush, but he's done a couple of interesting partnerships including a collab with RIVAL NYC. Hush doesn't appear to have an up to date blog or site, but he has sent photos out of his latest work to a couple of sneaker blogs. I'm keeping up with this guy. For now, though, you'll have to google him & see where HUSH FABRICATIONS pops up.

I love Santogold!!!!

Some real Dub/Roots music!!!!

Isola D’ischia x Rowgage Leather Rucksack

Italian brand Isola D’ischia works up a special version of their leather rucksack for Rowgage. The beautifully crafted pack features full tonal leather construction, perforated detailing, and the Italian-crafted qualities you’d expect from Isola D’ischia. Two colorways are now available via Rowgage.
I need to get me one of these....I'm trying to convert the chinese currency in to British Pounds......erm it's not working!

Paul Smith x Oakley Sunglasses

Paul Smith launch their first sunglasses collection with Oakley for Spring/Summer 2009. The result is fresh and fun capsule collection of Frogskin frames in four striking colourways. With a distinct matt rubberised finish, the Oakley Frogskins were first released in 1986 and became a symbol of that decade’s surf and skate culture. The Paul Smith frames reflect their retro origins with their high-voltage colour - pink, purple, blue and an original camo design. The sunglasses are finished with gradient mirrored lenses. Only 500 pairs will be available and limited exclusively to be sold in Paul Smith shops.

"Freecycle"

I recently joined up to a site named “Freecycle" my friends mum recommended it to me and now I'm hooked.
It's almost like Ebay, except you don't have to bid. People are giving away free stuff that they don't want but most of the stuff is real decent. My friend got a nice SLR camera of someone who was just giving it away....I know, crazy right!?!
All you do is register and type in what it is you’re looking for, but everyday there's people either offering or wanting something. I've been trying to get another pair of sennheiser headphones, no joy yet.

You have to have a Yahoo email account though.
Click on link below to check out the site, it is pretty confusing at first but you will get the hang of it.

Is Russell Simmons Suing Def Jam?

Is Russell Simmons suing the label he started?
“Can't believe I'm suing Def Jam,” Simmons said on Twitter via his username “UncleRush.” “They are now trying to eat my lunch? Unbelievable bullies. [That is] Unprecedented stupidity on their part.”
It is not clear as of yet where the lawsuit originates from. Simmons deleted the post from his Twitter page shortly after.
There are no further details at press time regarding what the alleged lawsuit stems from.
In response to the rumors, Simmons stated to BET.com "I can't comment on the pending litigation."

Well for those who have brought tickets!

Rehearsals for the Michael Jackson shows are well underway and already the King of Pop is hard at work preparing his concerts with show director Kenny Ortega and contributing choreographer and dancer from the Dangerous and HIStory tours, Travis Payne.
Shrouded in secrecy and the subject of much speculation as to their content, the shows have created a level of excitement never witnessed before. Fittingly, for such an out of this world show, rehearsals are taking place south of Silicone Valley, west of the NASA Space Center!
One of the highlights of rehearsals has been the dance auditions. With over 5,000 applications received, the number was narrowed down to 500 potential candidates, flying into California from all over America, and as far away as Australia, Canada, Japan, Europe, UK, and South America. They are some of the greatest dancers the world has to offer, and they were there for one reason – Michael! His influence inspired many of them to become dancers in the first place.

DAMN, I WISH I HAD TICKETS!!!!
